Substitutes for monosodium glutamate

Astra continues the successful sale of substitutes for monosodium glutamate – a natural product declared as "yeast extract" enhances the flavour and aroma of food products. Other yeast extracts give a broth taste, and the one offered by Astra is a 100% neutral flavour. A wide range of applications, including products, where no chemical flavour or aroma enhancers may be declared.

Concentrated yeast extracts

Astra offers concentrated yeast extracts with a very low salt content. Product contents: high nitrogen and low NaCl content, allows for lower costs of use in a wide range of food products. We recommend:

1. light yeast extract – for poultry products, vegetables, broths and light sauces, chips
2. dark yeast extract, for products, where a distinct meat flavour is desired, for stuffing with cabbage or mushrooms, for chips of oriental tastes, for concentrated foods like meat broth or roasted sauces

Soy sauce

Soy sauce –a naturally fermented and spray dried product – is our hit product, which due to its aromatic and flavour properties, has found recognition in the Polish and European markets, including the "slow-cooked" products, which are so popular these days. This is another application of this versatile product. Even before, the soy sauce powder was widely used in powdered concentrated foods, instant dishes and marinades. It is worth noting that the product is recommended by nutritionists as a salt replacement. Due to the natural fermentation, the product is considered to be a natural food flavour and aroma enhancer.
